Remember to breathe

It's been quite a manic Monday. We awoke to a rumor on Rumor Queen that an agency in Spain had heard from the CCAA that referrals would go through June 28. Does that date ring a bell? It should. It's our log in date! Yes, according to one of the Spanish agencies - and Spanish agencies are usually right - referrals are going through June 28.

That was at breakfast.

Then, throughout the day, the rumors continued. Another Spanish agency called their contact in China who also confirmed the 28th.

Oh. Oh my.

Then, this afternoon, we learned that a "European agency who's usually right" not only confirmed the 28th as the cutoff, but said the CCAA will be sending referrals tomorrow. As in Tuesday.

If this is true, I hate that they didn't make it through all of June. It's really not fair to those families logged in June 29 and 30. The only consolation is that they know they're next. Cold comfort if you ask me. And no one's out of the woods yet. We could be next month, as well.

The more "real" this becomes, the less real it feels. More surreal than anything. And I really have a hard time believing it's happening. In fact, it's best if I don't. But...join me for just a moment, won't you, in crazytalk fantasyland:

If, and that is a big if, people...but if the CCAA has indeed matched families logged in through June 28 then we've been matched with our baby. We have a daughter. Our file is in some outbox with three little photos and a description of the baby girl soon to be known as Piper Szabo.

But let's just shake it off, people. These are only rumors. As Rumor Queen said, "rumors with teeth," but rumors nonetheless. So let's not get too excited. Just yet.

Tuesday Morning Update! Last night, a fourth agency - a "big China-only agency" - confirmed the cutoff date is June 28. Wow. Now this is getting interesting.
