Rumor rundown

As we allegedly get closer to Piper's referral, I'll try to keep everyone up to date on referral rumors. About this time each month the rumors begin and they usually start with good news, stray to bad news and - the past few months - stay there!

The popular rumor right now is that referrals will be made for families logged in through June 21st. That's better than my original guess, which was around June 15th-ish. But the month is young - there's still time for things to go pear-shaped!

Our log in date is June 28, so we're not expecting anything this month, but this is in keeping with my best guess that we'll get our referral in late June. In fact, my internal Magic 8 Ball says we'll get our referral on June 28 - one year to the day from our log in date, because that's just how my life goes. It's like some giant cosmic grocery store and we've chosen the slowest checkout line.

But, oh, what a great story this will make someday! Hmmm - I guess it's making a great story now, isn't it? You're reading it, aren't you?

Here's some data to get you started: We requested an infant 6-12 months. However, China considers babies 0-24 months infants. The average age has been 11 months, but the babies seem to be younger these days with some in the recent batch as young as 6 and 7 months.

We've felt all along Piper will be either 8 or 10 months. With a June referral, that would make her birthday sometime in August thru October. Wouldn't it be cool if she was born on October 19 - that's my dad's birthday and Gary's dad's birthday. How auspicious!
