Thrills and chills
Okay, Chinese acrobats are performing...in my stomach. Hour-long shows, every hour, on the hour. Oy - pass the Maalox, indeed.
For some reason, my stomach is a bundle of nerves. I think it's just all the excitement - not necessarily nervousness. After such a long wait, we cannot believe this is actually happening. I truly expect to wake up from this amazing dream. But so far, so good without any pinching.
It just seems that everytime I turn around, there's another surprise! We got a note from our China Program Director at Dillon today. Believe it or not, she was in China this week for Dillon's first ever Homeland Tour - a trip to China for older adoptees, ages 8-13. Piper will be going on one of those trips someday...but first trips first!
During their trip, they had an opportunity to tour the CCAA. In the "matching room" they not only got to watch the CCAA staff match a family and child right before their eyes, but it was actuall one of Dillon's June families! That's our group! We're dying to know if it was us. There's a one in eight chance, so you never know. Regardless - what a wonderful experience for everyone there. And here.
Dillon has confirmed that we are definitely receiving our referrals this month - not only with the "visual" in the matching room, but our Program Director also contacted Bridge of Love Adoption Services (BLAS) - the agency in China currently translating our referrals - who confirmed that we are in...baby!
We could see Piper's precious face as soon as soon as Monday or Tuesday, but I'm planning for Thursday or Friday. China adoption lesson one - prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Lesson two - it is what it is and what happens happens (tres Zen, n'est pas?) And lesson three? Expect Chinese acrobats to perform daily in your stomach.
